Now What?

How many times have you found yourself in a situation where you have worked really hard, you've done everything you're "supposed" to do, you kept at it, life was supposed to change and somehow you left hanging like, "What the hell as I'm supposed to do now! Now what?" I have found that this happens to just about everybody that has ever made the decision to make a change in their life. You decide, "I'm going to make a change." Maybe you sign up for a workshop or class. Maybe you pick up a new self-help book. "Yup, for sure, this is the answer. Everything I need to know will be in this book and my life will change forever!" You read the book or take the class and everything feels awesome! At least for a little bit. That spiritual high slowly begins to fade and old habits and thoughts start to creep in. "Woah! But I read that book. This was supposed to stop... right?" So you go out and find another book or another class, and boom! we're right back at the beginning. Eventually (hopefully anyway), you find that quite possibly all these book aren't "it." They're great, and the info its amazeballs! but its not all that. "Like, how and I am supposed to actually "do" all this stuff that the book/class/workshop/webseries/blog/whatever said?" We start to think that maybe all this stuff doesn't work... and we find ourselves asking the dreaded question that so many of us have found ourselves asking, "Now what?"

So this is the part we I give you the answer. The answer to end all answers. After this there are no more answers. You will have it all, and you won't ever need to as that annoying question ever again, and your life will be in perfect order (I know that is a run-on sentence. sorry about it). Ok, so drumroll please (oh yeah, that's me too!) BlizzzzzzZZZAT!!!

AND THE ANSWER IS..... I don't know.

The answer is that I don't know, because there is no magic answer that so many of us have been looking for. There is no "one answer" or even a list of answers. You are the only one that knows the answer to your question. Thats why you have it in the first place! What I do know is that whatever the answer is, it is not outside of you. You will not find it in a book. You will not find it in a Nook. You will not find it with a mouse. You might find it while in your house. Sorry I got a little Dr. Seuss-y there for a second. But seriously, the answer you are looking for is not outside of yourself. It is not "out there." The tools and knowledge and everything we get from books and workshops and things are totally necessary, but they are not "it." They are not what you are looking for. These are things that help us get to what we are looking for, but they are not the thing. It would be like declaring you are going to take up rock climbing, going out buying a fancy-ass rope, and saying, "Dam, I'm a badass rock climber. Look at my rope!" That ain't it. You are the same rock climber with or without the rope. No better or worse because of the rope. Besides, if you are as badass as you say based on the coolness of your rope you wouldn't need the rope in the first place. Not that I am suggesting you go rock climbing without rope; I'm just saying some of these people that do it for real... no ropes (insert "bitting nails" emoji).

Anyway...

While I can't offer you a generic answer to end all answers (or maybe its to end all questions... either way), I can offer you some of my own experience and how that has turned into the FaceBook Live Series below. I am super excited to be bringing you this blog, this website, and all of the new and cool stuff that comes along with it that I haven't come up with yet. What I have come up with already is a way to start the conversation about really living a life that works for you. I am certain that you will find some great discussion here about how to find your own answer in ways that I have no found in many other places. And when I do find those other place, I will share those here too.

Answering the question of Now What? has become a serious motivation for me; one that has morphed from answering the question into beginning a new conversation.

Back in the beginning of this year, a good friend, Camille Conte, and I decided to take a lead and begin a completely impromptu, unscripted 4 week series on FaceBook Live - "Happy New Year - Now What?" - with the idea that we would have real conversation about real things that real people wanted to know about.

So we did it, and well... if you know Camille or myself you can imagine how some unscripted conversation might go. Enjoy this video from part of our series on Now What.
